After playing competitive baseball, Chris Braunsdorf began his jiu jitsu journey in 2009 at age 22. In December 2022, Chris earned his black belt from Professor Ulpiano Malachias. Shortly after, he moved to Charlotte, NC, where he began training with Professor Lucas Lepri.
Professor Chris has been teaching jiu jitsu classes for kids and adults. Over the years, he has trained consistently, occasionally competing in local and regional tournaments (most recently winning gold at the IBJJF Charlotte Open 2024 in the masters 2 black belt no-gi division).
Creating a welcoming, fun, and safe environment is very important to Chris for students of all levels. He believes jiu-jitsu can help build confidence, respect, and good character. His teaching style emphasizes advanced fundamentals, self-defense, and technical precision.
Outside the gym, Chris is a Registered Dietitian (RD) by trade, working with dialysis patients. He has earned a Master of Science degree in Health and Human Performance with a Nutrition and Wellness concentration. He also loves reading, bowling, hiking with his beautiful wife, and playing ping pong and chess.
